Responsibilities

Once accepted, member projects are part of how the cooperative governs itself. The commitments below are what keep the network functioning.

Governance participation

All member projects must have at least one representative attending monthly governance calls, providing updates, and contributing to the forward movement of the cooperative. Representatives should not miss more than one consecutive call without having a replacement present.

The nominated representative:

is part of the Shared Treasury multisig and signs transactions
joins the monthly meetings
gives updates on their project
relays information from the meeting back to the rest of their team

Ongoing expectations

Hold a minimum of 3,000 $BREAD in your treasury
Add a link and logo for Bread Cooperative to your website
Share with your community that you have joined Bread Cooperative
Actively recruit your community to bake $BREAD
Prioritise the use of $BREAD within your community, however that looks in your context
Support other member projects to increase network effects

Exit and removal

A member project may leave at any time with written resignation. After resignation, Bread Cooperative and the project have 30 days to complete the necessary offboarding steps.

Member projects may also be removed by democratic process for:

not meeting membership requirements
becoming inactive for three or more months
conducting activities that conflict with the Guiding Principles

The removal process:

The initiator speaks to at least two others in the group to gauge support for a resolution session
If two others support scheduling a session, one is arranged
The first session focuses on understanding the issue and identifying actions the project can take to address it
A month is allowed for those changes to be made
A second session evaluates whether appropriate changes have been made, followed by a majority vote on removal
