Eligibility
Member projects are the organisations that make up the Bread Cooperative network. Each one holds a seat in the Shared Treasury and receives a share of the monthly yield distribution.
To become a member project, an organisation must be active, have familiarity with web3 tools, and have demonstrated work on one or more of Bread Cooperative’s Guiding Principles. A potential new project must be nominated by an existing member, fill out the application form, provide information about themselves, and have a representative available for monthly governance calls. New projects are only added upon unanimous vote from the whole group.
We expect projects to be comfortable being associated with the label post-capitalist — that we are critical of how the current system works, and want to prefigure the infrastructure for what a new one can look like. One that is more democratic and equitable for everyone, not just the few at the top.
While we use crypto tooling to facilitate the system, we don’t expect every member project to be deeply involved in the crypto space. We are interested in projects that are, and in ones focused on building grassroots movements whether crypto is involved or not.

What a good fit looks like
Section titled “What a good fit looks like”These lists are meant to help potential members work out how — and whether — they’d fit. A project does not need to match every point. The more they align with, the more likely they are to be accepted. If there are particularities about your organisation, explain them in the application form.
Think you’re a fit? See How to Apply. Already know you are? Read the Responsibilities first.
